"Il sarto immortale" (the immortal tailor) is a further development of "Hautnah", a series of artworks which, in addition to the video and installation (1995), also includes the sound installation "Quem queritis non est hic" (1996-97) and several works of photography. This project deals with the relationship between bodies, external appearance, and technology, with a special emphasis on the topic of sewing and the various operations it involves. It includes all elements connected with fashion. The work of tailoring: cutting, measuring, analyzing, and putting back together again; as well as the many processes and tools for production, publicity, and sales. The contradictory relationship between an abstract, measurable canon of perfection and beauty and the impossibility of representing a real, individual, and concrete being has a long tradition in the history of art, and this relationship is shown here with reference to the fashion world.

The idea behind this project is connected to the production of the first "suit of skin" made of material printed with images of the naked skin of the artist's body. The design of additional pieces of clothing (jacket, blouse, T-shirt, skirt, etc.) is planned, and a fashion collection should be developed in which the covering with two-dimensional pictures of the body and the three-dimensional form of the clothing call forth a kind of fragmented overall picture of the body. The pieces are designed to be worn either together with other parts of the collection or separately, with pieces that do not belong to the collection. The project will develop in a series of events, performances, and installations, which are part of a whole sequence and can be seen in three exhibitions in various places at different times. The exhibitions become windows to the complete process of work and allow the observer to catch a glimpse of the intimate moment of creation.
