The scientific relevant subject of the knowbotic interface are the knowbots. These represent computational equivalents to the formal structures made explicit in the formal psychological theory, eventually enriched by empirical subtheories.

The input of a knowbot are the sensory data, which are represented by ASCII-strings and which follow the rules of a formal grammar called sensory-grammar.

The output of a knowbot are action data, which are represented by ASCII-strings and which also follow the rules of a formal grammar called action-grammar.

The inner structure of a knowbot corresponds the psychological theory (and some special empirical theories) describing the general structure of a consciousness together with all the inherent dynamics.
