Cofounder of the Institut for New Media [INM], since 1994 head of the Knowbot-Project of the INM. His main concern is dedicated to the question, which conditions have to be fullfilled that a computer program is like a human child able to learn any of the relevant properties of his environment including languages.

Mitbegründer des Instituts für Neue Medien e.V., seit 1994 Forschungsleiter des Knowbot-Projektes des INM. Sein zentrales Interesse gilt der Frage, welche Bedingungen erfüllt sein müssen, damit Computerprogramme wie Kinder die Eigenschaften beliebiger Umwelten und der darin vorfindbaren Sprachen lernen und situationsgerecht anwenden können.
