From the beginning, the Institute for New Media [INM] in Frankfurt has been the working environment of the Knowbotic Interface Project [KIP].
Originally a part of the Städelschule, the INM had a very productive time in its first five years under the founding director Peter WEIBEL and by now is the leading computer arts and media lab in the Rhein-Main region. As the Städelschule could not financially support the institute past the summer term '94, the INM was reorganized as an independent entity in October 1994 by a group of artists, scientists, and friends of the its work. Peter WEIBEL stays with the institute as artistic director and advisor (together with Thomas BAYRLE and Kasper KOENIG),while Dr. Michael KLEIN has been appointed as the managing director of the whole institute.
The INM is a independent non-profit organization dedicated to research and education in the field of new media, a working place for young artists, and a place to develop new prototypical projects in cooperation with partners from everywhere.
If you are interested in the INM and its work, you can get the latest information by EMail from info@inm.de or through the WWW-homepage http://www.inm.de.
