HARDWARE & SOFTWARE
(Last changes Oct-6 1995)
The hardware and software of KIP is still very limited. Look, what we have at the moment:
- HP 712/80 (64 MB RAM, 1 GB Disk): Equipped with Nextstep Vers. 3.3. Predominantly used to run a local world with some viewer-software and an object- and world-editor (programmed in Objective-C).
- HP 712/60 (64 MB RAM, 1 GB Disk): Untill November 1995 equipped with Nextstep Vers. 3.3 and predominantly used to develop and run knowbots (programmed in Objective-C). Because we are interested to open up our development we will change from Nextstep 3.3 to HP UX (with XWindow, Motif, C++) some time after November 1996.
- PC 486/66 (32 MB RAM, 1 GB Disc): Untill November 1995 equipped with Nextstep Vers. 3.3 and predominantly used for aditional development (using Objective-C). Because we are interested to open up our development we will change from Nextstep 3.3 to LINUX (with XWindow, Motif, C++) some time after November 1996. The LINUX-Version should be in parallel with the HP UX-Version.
- PC 486/66 (16 MB RAM, 1 GB Disc LINUX, 320 MB DOS/MS Windows): Equipped with LINUX (Unifix Vers. 1.5, XWindow, Motif 2.0) and with DOS 6.0, MS Windows 3.1.
