ars

ln the version for the "Ars Electronica '94", the original space which generated the work is done away with. Of the original object, only a few possible interpretations remain as traces: depiction of ASCII-coded images of the space, three architectural models constructed of various materials with different sizes and various qualities inside of which the computer-generated simulation is located as a 5th dimension. They are like Russian dolls, parallel and concentric universes.

The walls of exihibition space are wallpapered with print-outs of the images ASCII characters, that portay the original space in Frankfurt. Thay are the external shell of the entire installation. Upon these walls lean the deconstructed parts of the first model like on a building site. They are scaled 1:2 in relation to the original space and painted white. On its base plate a steel tube model is added as an abstraction of the architectural space's linear form, scaled 1:4. Next to which one finds a miniature reproduction of the inexistant space in the form of a wooden model on end to the scale of 1:8, into which the observer may peer through the model door and be led through the internal projection of a computer animation sequence into the non-material synthetic space of the computer.
