This project developed out of the idea to work on the interrelationship between an object and its representation. It should circulate within the mechanisms and processes which determine the fact that only an object that exists for itself can be transformed into a phenomenon.
In that moment of perception, the instant within which the human seizes the object to incorporate it in his realm of knowledge, he transforms it to a means of communication, a symbol. At this point the object becomes its own message, it becomes culture, it becomes writing. To be precise, the object is transformed into a series of symbols that marks it. These symbols offer the possibility to represent the entire world of phemomena. The writing, and with it an autonumous world of compendiums and concepts is brought to life, freed from the world of objects.
At present the separation is mainly caused by the introduction of electronic date and information processing. The information has emancipated itself from reality by not needing writing to be transmitted: it is pure energy that flows either within the tubes of the electronic maze or via airwaves.
