The second stage in the project's cycle was the performance "Il sarto immortale: Laufsteg", that took place at "Art Cologne" in November 1997. A fashion show, in which two models presented the now finished pieces od clothing, was presented at Galerie Beckers' stand during the opening of the art fair.

For this purpose, a catwalk was built, formed by wallpapering a section of the back wall and the adjacent floor with plastic sheets which were printed with a fragment of the artist's body, representing her navel as ASCII code. The models came onto the catwalk through a door in the wall, behind which a changing room was located, where an assistant and the make-up artist prepared the models for the show. After the fashion show, visitors to the fair could enter the room. Along with other objects necessary for preparing the show, the collection of clothes could also be seen there.

The choreography of the show did not follow a linear pattern. Rather, it was designed as a circular loop and so resembled a ritualized action. The models took turns walking down the catwalk alone, always with the same number of slow steps and turns. Since the various pieces of clothing - printed with naked "skin" - were conceived as to be mixed and matched, it was possible to show the same piece in different combinations, and then, after the last round, the show could seamlessly start again at the beginning. The show was accompanied by the sound of spoken letters for the ASCII code used to represent picture fragments of the body. The performance was recorded on video and during the following days this documentary could be viewed on a monitor located behind the open door of the changing room.
