With regard to the KIP we will give here a short account of different sciences which are important in this context.

According to our concept of a theory we are distinguishing mainly four types of theories:
  • Purely formal theories
Examples of purely formal theories are 'mathematics', 'logic', 'formal languages', 'automata theory', 'semiotics' (different to normal usage). All these theories are used within the knowbotic interface project.

  • Empirical theories
Examples of empirical theories are 'physics', 'chemistry', 'geography', 'biology', 'ethology', 'physiology', 'neurophysiology'. All these theories are relevant for the knowbotic interface project.

  • Psychological theories
Examples of psychological theories are (different from normal usage today!) 'psychology' , 'phonetics', 'linguistics'. All these are relevant for the knowbotic interface project.

  • Meta theories
Examples of meta theories are 'theory of science' and 'epistemology'. All these are relevant for the knowbotic interface project.
